The Roman Baths

As part of our topic we visited the Roman Baths.  It was an amazing trip full of history and Roman culture.

Here we are with David, an expert on the history of the Roman Baths.  We looked at some artefacts.  We took it in turns guessing the name of each artefact, what it might be used for and how old it was.

We also found some Roman pottery.

What do you think the children could see through the glass floor?

One of our activities was to role playing working in a shop.  Some of the children used Roman coins to buy items during a visit to a Roman baths.

Continuing to use their maths knowledge of the children read the Roman numerals on the clock face to identify that it was almost time for lunch.

We also enjoyed sketching the baths and the pillars surrounding it.  Can you see all the steam coming from the hot springs below the baths?
