Pizza Express

As part of our cooking topic we took a trip to Pizza Express where we enjoyed making our very own pizzas.

Here we are listening to the manager explain how important it is to wash our hands, wear and apron and cover our hair.  

After, we were each given a piece of dough.  We had a flour covered surface to prevent it from sticking when kneading it.

Using the tips of our fingers we gently pushed the corners of the dough outwards until it was stretched to double its size.

Some children managed to toss their pizza dough high up into the air.  Look carefully at the picture below.

Then, we pressed it into the tin,

 and added tomato sauce.

 Finally we sprinkled mozzarella cheese on the top.

 Then they were stacked ready for the pizza oven.
